170 "Woman Owned" small parcel estates were selected to be separated and processed via the Pulp Natural "Honey" process. After cupping 20 different microlots of variations of "Honey" processed coffee I choose this one small lot of 20 bags to purchase. As typical of the Costa Rica; medium bodied with just the right amount of sweetness yet this coffee has a wonderful finished; EXTREMEMLY smooth and buttery. It did not vary too much as to be too exotic for a Costa Rica coffee but San Isidro PN micro lot really hits the mark. Quantity is ONLY what is on hand. When it's gone... it's gone until next year.
Please Note: More coffees are being sourced from smaller micro milled estates. Royal Coffee Imports have been extremely valuable in helping small roasters such as Catahoula coffee to connect, and buy directly from the farmers. Plus an added benefit is the ability to source "Unique" coffees, expecially from Coast Rica, as the "Honey" coffees. Honey coffee, aka Pulp Natural, is a method of de-skinning the vine ripened cherries while leaving the protein laden mucilage, to produce a rustic sweetness in the cup. You will see more of these coffees from diffferents origins in the future.
