Catahoula Coffee has an excellent Royal Water Process DECAF blend for those who REALLY are true coffee connoisseurs; they choose to drink coffee for the taste not the buzz. Full bodied Sumatra Mandheling with a fine Brazilian adds complexity to your cup. The DECAF Houla blend is chalked full of flavor which serves well as a rich shot of espresso (full of wonderful crema) yet excellent too as a drip coffee. Let's face it, the percentage of Decaf coffee being sold is quite small, thus it's important in not only keeping it fresh, but to also offer an incredible well rounded coffee.
Please Note: Royal Water Process is the method of using steam to extract the caffeine out of the beans. Since this and other decaffeination methods strip some of the goodness (flavor) through the process, it is safe to say, some bean importers will not use the highest quality of beans. Not Royal Coffee Importers!!! These beans are Excellent going in... and Very Good coming out of the decaffeination process. You can taste the difference. Plus the Royal Water Process is not using harsh chemicals.
Trivia Factoid: A shot of espresso has roughly the same amount of caffeine as a 12 oz can of Coke. While the 12oz cup of coffee has about 10x the amount of caffeine. So if you are caffeine sensitive, try a shot of espresso.
