    Job Requirements:

    *Exceptional customer service and hospitality practices, love of specialty coffee and connecting with people.

    *1-2 years in a store/cafe manager or leadership role

    *Ability to quickly assess the needs of a location or team and map out a plan to address current accredited CA Food Safety Certification (manager level) or certification within 30 days post-hire. Catahoula will pay for the certification

    *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both oral and written.

    *The ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills in line with the values and standards of Catahoula Coffee.

    *Ability to lead changes that come with a growing business, and prioritizing the need to run a fast-paced environment

    *Basic familiarity and comfort with using and troubleshooting technology systems such as Square POS, Google Docs, Gmail, wifi networks...

    *Comfort with basic coffee/food service equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

    *Managing vendor orders, cost control, sales and labor monitoring, and maintaining the cafe's vibe.

    *Creating a bi-weekly schedule for cafe staff.

    *Providing cafe team with valuable feedback to grow and develop internal talent.

    *Greet and interact with all customers providing everyone with an excellent experience in our store.

    *Maintain a positive demeanor in a busy environment where multi-tasking, cleaning, and effective communication are requirements.

    *Maintain coffee and food knowledge on current offerings and confidently and accurately communicate product information to customers.

    *Properly handle and maintain all coffee brewing equipment.

    *Follow cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.

    *Communicate with team members and management to solve problems and improve service.

    Store Manager compensation ranges from $23 - $27/hr.

    Job Description
    We are searching for an engaging, courteous barista who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and education. The barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.

    A successful candidate will be committed to providing customers with excellent service and will be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.

    Full-time & part-time available. Starting at $17.20 / hour + tips.

    Barista Responsibilities:

    • Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.

    • Preparing foods, such as sandwiches or baked goods, grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.

    • Packaging food and beverages for sale.

    • Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.

    • Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.

    • Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.

    • Updating signage and displays to attract customers.

    • Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.

    • Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.

    • Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

    Barista Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Food Handler Certification (or willingness/ability to acquire upon hiring agreement)

    • Experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service preferred.

    • Training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation.

    • Exceptional listening and communication skills.

    • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Roastery Lead supports the company operations by maintaining customer service and fulfillment center. You will be the leader of our coffee manufacturing, packaging, and fulfillment processes at our roasting facility. You will ensure our products meet our quality standards, are ready for shipment on time, and model our strongly held company values of deliciousness, hospitality, and sustainability. Other responsibilities include daily customer service, inclusive of processing orders, billing, and communicating issues. While also ensuring that all coffee team safety, personnel, quality, efficiency, and operational production responsibilities are sustained and continuously improving to meet our operational goals.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    TEAM LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

    ● Calculate staffing needs and hire, schedule, train, manage, and individually develop an incredible team dedicated to production excellence.

    ● Drive efforts on our production team to always ensure a welcoming and inclusive workplace environment for all of our employees, suppliers, and guests.

    ● Help our team identify and establish key performance indicators, supporting the development of tools that will aid our team in finding and understanding opportunities to improve our manufacturing processes.

    ● Communicate daily with Head Roaster and Fulfillment Team regarding order fulfillment, roasting inventory, maintenance, and warehouse inventory needs.

    ● Participate in \huddles\ to understand schedule changes, production issues, and workflow

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SYSTEM FUNCTIONS

    ● Provides exceptional customer service to our Wholesale and E-Commerce customers, with patience, energy, and problem-solving abilities.

    ● Invoicing and reporting tasks

    ● Answers main company phone line to take orders, messages, or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions.

    ● Receives and processes all customer orders through our online ordering and shipping systems

    ● Office and Warehouse product inventory.

    ● Works closely with all departments—roasting, production, administration—to ensure efficient daily operations.

    ● Inspection Control: visually inspecting all completed orders and products. Assisting in packaging retail bags to ensure product bags are presentable

    ● Maintenance: Conduct routine cleaning and scheduled maintenance of all coffee packaging equipment

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ● US work authorization (Required)

    ● 1-2 years of warehouse experience (Preferred)

    ● 1-2 years of Customer Service and/or Administrative Experience (Preferred)

    ● High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

    ● Good math skills, computer skills

    ● Excellent interpersonal one-on-one, team, and partnership skills

    ● Ability to routinely lift/carry 10-50 lbs. in a safe manner

    PREFERRED: EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    ● Experience in the coffee industry

    ● Familiarity with fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and general warehouse work

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS

    ● This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing paperwork.

    ● The noise level in this warehouse environment is frequently loud

    ● The Roastery is not a climate-controlled environment and employees are subject to seasonal temperatures.

    ● A strong coffee scent is continuously present in this warehouse environment

    Work Schedule

    This is a full-time hourly position Monday – Friday with 8-hour shifts ranging between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    Occasional evening and Holiday work may be required as job duties demand.
